OVERVIEW

Ankit Sibbal, Partner at Archer Jurists LLP has significant knowledge and experience in the sphere of commercial litigation, arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution (including international commercial arbitration, mediation and conciliation). With specialization in the Company law and Insolvency and Bankruptcy field, he is practicing before the NCLT and NCLAT since inception of the law itself in the year 2016 and he was instrumental in the transitioning period between the erstwhile CLB and the
NCLT.

Ankit has handled cases in the Supreme Court, High Courts and Tribunals. He also counsels an array of private and public sector organizations including GAIL India and Powergrid Corporation of India.

In 2012 he was appointed a Special India representative and speaker at the Integrated Legal Holdings Limited (ILH) Conference, held in Darwin, Australia. He has also been a Guest Lecturer of Corporate Restructuring through Mergers and Amalgamations at the School of Law, ITM University in Gurgaon, Haryana.

Ankit is a partner and the group head for Litigation & Regulatory – Corporate Commercial at Archer Jurists LLP for the past 11 years.

  • Handled one of the first insolvency cases of NCLT representing the Corporate Debtor which was a 25000 crore EPC company.
  • Represented Resolution professional and the litigations before the NCLT and NCLAT.
  • Advisor to a number of EPC Companies on their PPP project such Laying of Gas Pipeline, or Coal Handling, Ash Handling or Thermal Power Project etc.
  • Handling arbitrations and litigations or infrastructure companies pertaining to tender disputes and operational disputes.
  • Responsible for drafting, vetting and advisory on contracts including PPA’s for various companies and closure of legal commercial discussions for them.
  • Led a Project Finance transaction of a Rail Freight Company for setting up a Private freight Terminal which included general corporate assignments and legal Due-Diligence.
  • Pivotal role in the merger process of two sister concern companies which included drafting of Scheme of Amalgamation and compliance based Due-diligence.
  • Handling of amalgamation process of two companies including pre, post-merger integration and drafting of pre, post incorporation contracts.
